CENTURIONS AND COVID-19
With Mayor Lucas', Governor Parson's, and Governor Kelly’s extension of the stay-at-home orders, future plans regarding large group gatherings remain uncertain; however, we intend to move forward with in-person programming as soon as we are responsibly able and will adjust in-person programming (i.e. capacity) based on recommendations from community leaders. In the meantime, we will continue to provide valuable content to the participants remotely. Community leaders, including KC Chamber leadership, are currently partnering to discuss what responsible re-entry will look like, and at this time we do not have all the information we need as to how we will move forward; however, your Steering Committees and Chamber staff are having an ongoing dialogue around innovative thinking on how to best move forward, and we anticipate more clarity in due time.
Please continue to check the online calendar and the weekly newsletter for information regarding specific events which are updated as we determine their status. While there have been conversations among the actives regarding the future of the program, ultimately, if a decision was to be made about postponing the program it would come from Joe Reardon and Chamber leadership.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate these unprecedented challenges together.

Since 1980, Centurions Leadership Program has, in Bernard Powell’s memory, recognized alumni who demonstrate outstanding leadership, deep commitment to service and clear passion for the improvement of the Greater Kansas City area. ONLINE: NONPROFIT BOARD BASICS
Many Centurions serve or plan to serve on a board to have a substantial and ongoing impact in our community. Board service is also an effective way to grow your professional network and develop leadership skills.
Set yourself up for success! This is your chance to get the answers to all the questions you have, and some you didn’t even know you had, about serving on a nonprofit board. Luann Feehan, President & CEO of Nonprofit Connect, will explore the basics, challenges and trends of board service. ONLINE LUC WITH CHIEFS’ PRESIDENT MARK DONOVAN
Friday, May 1, 8:30-9:30 a.m. via Zoom
Join us for a virtual Leadership Up Close event with Chiefs’ President Mark Donovan. In his role, Mark is responsible for all business operations for the Superbowl Champions. Mark is recognized as one of the most innovative executives in the NFL. In addition, Mark and his wife, Kathy, are very active in civic and charitable causes in Kansas City. THE CENTURIONS FALL 2020-2021 LEGACY PROJECT APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN!
The Centurions Legacy Project application window is now open until May 1. Don’t miss your chance for your organization to be a part of this amazing program!
Every year the Centurions select a Legacy Project, with the intent to bring a long-lasting benefit to the Kansas City community. The committee plans, leads, and organizes Centurion volunteers to participate in and complete the project.
While every project is unique, Centurions provide several hundred skilled volunteer hours, several thousand dollars, and tremendous, visibility to community leaders. Additionally, we leverage all of our relationships across the city to secure in-kind donations and sponsorships for our projects – in some instances these contributions are enormous. Projects can be short, or last as long as ten months to complete. Apply here >>
