(Kansas City, MO) – The 11th and 12th Complete Streets Connections study is being developed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA). The goal of the study is to identify potential improvements to reliability and efficiency for bicycle and bus mobility along the 11th and 12th Street corridors between Wyandotte Street and Troost Avenue.

A public open house to unveil the recommended plan will be held on Wed., March 2, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the East Village Transit Center located at 700 E 12th St. On street parking available as well as at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church located at 1307 Holmes St. This will be an informal come-and-go open house format. The design team will be available to share visual renderings and answer questions. The public is encouraged to attend and share their comments! This event is in addition to the stakeholder focus groups and public pop-up events that were conducted in late 2021. For more information about the plan visit https://bit.ly/3czDx8R.

The goals of this project align with KCMO's Complete Street ordinance to make our streets safer and more accessible for all users: bicyclists, pedestrians, transit-users, and vehicles. Study goals include a proposed design that:

  • Provides more reliable bus service through downtown
  • Includes an east-west bicycle corridor through downtown
