CUKC Radiologic Technology Program Receives National Accreditation
Following a review of program qualities and outcomes, including a site visit in 2022, the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology program at Cleveland University-Kansas City has been awarded full accreditation by the Joint Review Committee for Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
The JRCERT accreditation is for the maximum of three years allowed by initial accreditation.
“The credit for achieving full JRCERT accreditation goes to our Rad Tech program leaders and their faculty,” CUKC President Carl S. Cleveland III, said. “The CUKC Rad Tech graduates are well-prepared diagnostic imaging professionals and quickly become employed as part of a high-demand workforce.
Jason Elliott, B.S., M.H.A., is Program Director of the A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology program and was instrumental in helping launch the program in 2018. He is a certified and registered radiographer and CT technologist.
“The JRCERT accreditation process is lengthy and rigorous,” Elliott said. “After application, an extensive self-study report is submitted. A JRCERT team conducts an on-site visit of the program, and the program responds to the JRCERT Report of Findings.”
Elliott said the award of accreditation letter received in December 2022 indicated the program is in compliance with all relevant standards.
JRCERT, a nonprofit organization, ensures radiologic technology programs provide appropriate knowledge and skills and adhere to the professional values required by today’s radiologic technologists. Program quality is measured against standards set by multiple industry organizations.
The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.
About the A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology at CUKC
Students can complete their Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology in as little as two years through 8-week evening courses. When students achieve specific competencies, they receive clinical assignments at work sites associated with the CUKC program. CUKC has two start dates, fall, and spring, for students who have completed prerequisites and are ready to begin radiologic technology courses.

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredits educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry that can be offered at the certificate, associate, baccalaureate, and master’s degree levels. These programs are offered by institutionally accredited, degree-granting institutions and hospitals/medical centers that are either degree-granting or award certificates.
