KANSAS CITY, May 1, 2022 –– High Aspirations is excited to announce that former Kansas State University (K-State) Coach Bill Snyder will be the Keynote Speaker at its 12th annual Mentors Challenge presented by Carter Broadcast Group this fall. He served as the head football coach at Kansas State University from 1989 to 2005 and again from 2009 to 2018. Snyder was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015 and won several conference and national coach of the year awards. In recognition of his contributions to the program, Kansas State has named its home field the Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium.

“Coach Snyder is a developer of leaders, whose legacy continues to have a tremendous impact far beyond the game of football,” said Henry Wash, Founder and President at High Aspirations. “He is a champion for mentoring and his passion has impacted the lives of many others.”

Attended by leaders from across Kansas City’s business and civic communities, The Mentors Challenge is High Aspirations’ signature fundraising event of the year. For 2022, The Mentors Challenge carries the theme “The Year of the Campus,” celebrating the completion of a $3.5 million campus with the mentoring center, pavilion, soccer field, track, raised bed garden, storage and outdoor space for actives for our young men to engage.

“Our youth have not been able to participate in the program as much as they should [during] Covid,” said Barb Bloch, Mentors Challenge Honorary Chair. “The completion of our campus will help High Aspirations further our cause and achieve our mission to raise African American males’ aspirations through social, emotional, academic, and spiritual opportunities.”
