Kansas City PBS Expands Reach Through Hulu + Live TV Partnership

Hulu + Live TV Subscribers Will Now Have Access to High-Quality, Educational and Inspiring Content from Kansas City PBS.

KANSAS CITY, MO (Dec. 6, 2023) - Kansas City PBS is thrilled to announce a collaboration with Hulu + Live TV, that brings exceptional local programming to an even wider audience. Viewers can now access Kansas City PBS content seamlessly through Hulu + Live TV, one of the nation’s largest streaming services for live television, with more than 4.5 million subscribers. 

"We are excited to offer Kansas City PBS programming on Hulu + Live TV,” said Kliff Kuehl, Kansas City PBS President and CEO. “This partnership highlights our commitment to adapt to trends in viewer preferences while ensuring even more community members have access to our content.” 

This collaboration will allow Hulu + Live TV users to watch Kansas City PBS Channel 19.1 live from their preferred devices, positioning Kansas City PBS to connect more households to award-winning local content. Viewers can enjoy local documentaries from Kansas City PBS like Nichols’ Folly: A Century of the Country Club PlazaWe Are Latinos and Aids in KC, all from the Hulu app. 

“We are thrilled that one of the largest live TV streaming services is now home to quality local programming from PBS Member Stations,” said Ira Rubenstein, PBS Chief Digital and Marketing Officer. 

In addition to Hulu + Live TV, Kansas City PBS Channel 19.1 is available to stream live at kansascitypbs.org. All four Kansas City PBS channels, including Channel 19.1, 19.2, 19.3 (Create) and 19.4, the 24-hour PBS KIDS channel, are available via antenna.  

Viewers can access Kansas City PBS programming anytime through the PBS App on platforms like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and smart TVs by Samsung and Vizio or on their smart devices. Members of Kansas City PBS also benefit from an extended library of quality public television programming through their Kansas City PBS Passport.
