KANSAS CITY, MO – The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) is proud to announce the 2021 Parade of Playhouses, which was held April 24 through May 2, raised $15,000 for Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City

Since 1979 Habitat KC has built or renovated more than 850 homes in Wyandotte, Leavenworth and Johnson counties in Kansas, and Clay, Platte and Jackson counties in Missouri. As the seventh oldest affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, and the largest nonprofit homebuilder in the Kansas City area, Habitat KC partners with local families, volunteers and donors to build a Kansas City community where everyone has a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.

“Kansas City is in an affordable housing crisis, and it’s only with community support that we can face this crisis head-on and begin to make the change that so many families need. We’re so thankful to KCHBA for stepping up to meet this challenge,” said Lindsay Hicks, vice president of development at Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.

On display at Nebraska Furniture Mart during that time, the eight playhouses were auctioned off to the highest bidders. Playhouse themes included a castle, happy camper, cozy cottage and more.

“The missions of the KCHBA and Habitat for Humanity complement each other nicely, which made partnering for the Parade of Playhouses particularly special,” said Will Ruder, executive vice president of the KCHBA. “We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity and its work to provide access to housing for underserved populations.”
