FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO

Artists, marketing firms, bakers, restaurants, clothing line companies – those are just a few examples of the small businesses honored by the KC Chamber last week at our Superstars Reception. More than 2500 businesses were nominated as Superstars of small business.

More than 400 people attended the reception at the Lightwell Gallery event space at 1100 Main. A DJ, photo booth, and roving performers entertained the crowd, which included lenders and entrepreneurial support organizations in an attempt to facilitate connections between them.

The energy was infectious and it was truly a celebration of Kansas City’s entrepreneurial spirit. There was a vibrancy in the room that made you excited for the future.

The next steps for the Superstars who want to continue in the Celebration? Joining the Chamber and filling out an application for the KC Chamber’s Small Business Awards. The application deadline is March 15. On April 4, those businesses can show off their wares and services at our annual Candidates’ Showcase.

The Chamber’s Small Business season is officially underway – the largest such event honoring and promoting small businesses in the nation.
