Your Chamber at Work - November 18, 2024
FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO
Small businesses are the backbone of Kansas City’s vibrant economy, and there’s no better time to shine a spotlight on their incredible contributions. That’s why I’m happy to announce the return of our Small Business Superstars program and the start of the 2025 Small Business Celebration.
The Superstars program is all about recognizing the heart, hustle and innovation of our small business community. Whether it’s a neighborhood café, a cutting-edge tech startup, or a family-run retail store, we want to celebrate their entrepreneurship. Shortly after the first of the year, I invite you to submit your favorite small business—or your own—and help us recognize those who make our city thrive.
But that’s just the beginning. The KC Chamber’s Small Business Awards applications are now open. This is your opportunity to be recognized as one of Kansas City’s standout small businesses. With categories like the Small Business of the Year (Mr. K Award) and others that celebrate excellence in entrepreneurship, community impact and more, these awards offer a chance to elevate your business and share your success story on a regional stage. Participating in the Small Business Celebration isn’t just about recognition. It’s about connecting with other innovators, gaining exposure, and joining a community of like-minded entrepreneurs committed to making Kansas City the best place to start and grow a business.
If you’re a small business or know one that deserves to be celebrated, visit our Small Business Celebration webpage to learn more and apply. We’ve opened the application period early this year, giving those interested in participating additional time to complete the form. Here’s to another year of celebrating the passion and perseverance that define Kansas City’s small businesses.
