FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO Sobering statistics: 2.4 million women left the workforce during the pandemic. One of the key reasons: the lack of childcare. In Kansas City, 30 percent of childcare facilities have closed during that same time. Meanwhile, there are 95,000 jobs available in our region, and our businesses are having difficulty filling those positions. The lack of available childcare is a business issue, and the Chamber is responding. Read Article

On Thursday, January 27 at 10 a.m., people from 61 different countries will become United States citizens, and the ceremonies will be live-streamed on YouTube. Their countries of origin include Afghanistan, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, India, Mexico, Nepal, South Korea, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Venezuela, just to name a few.
