KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Tuesday that team President Mark Donovan has signed a long-term contract extension with the club. Donovan originally joined the Chiefs as the club’s chief operating officer in 2009 before being promoted to team president in 2011.

MOBILE, Ala. - The future Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Kansas City (LCS 22) successfully concluded acceptance trials in the Gulf of Mexico after a series of in-port and underway demonstrations, the Navy announced Oct. 31.
“This level of performance is among the best I’ve seen for this class. We continue to see improvements in cost, initial quality and schedule, ship after ship,” said Capt. Mike Taylor, littoral combat ship (LCS) program manager.

Veracity Consulting welcomed 28-year industry veteran Chris Barr as its new vice president of federal operations, effective Oct. 21. Two important items I’d like to share with you today.
First, congratulations to Carolyn Watley who was elected the new Chair of the KC Chamber at last week’s Chamber Board meeting. Carolyn is Vice President of Community Engagement for CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services Inc., and has been active in the Chamber for a long time. She’s been a driving force behind our Women’s Executive Leadership Council as well as our Healthy KC initiative. Her term as Chair begins November 1.
