The MARC Board of Directors has elected new leadership.
Carson Ross, mayor of Blue Springs, Missouri, was elected chair at the Jan. 24 Board meeting. He replaces Harold Johnson Jr., commissioner for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, who served as chair for the past two years.

Advocating for Kansas City’s business and community interests is an important part of the KC Chamber’s work. We’re very pleased to see some of our priorities included in proposals from both Governor Parson and Governor Kelly.

Southwest Airlines announced that the carrier will offer its first-ever nonstop service between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) in Long Beach, California. Daily flights will begin March 9, 2023.
With the addition of LGB, Southwest will have 62 daily departures from MCI to and 26 nonstop destinations in March 2023.
