Builders’ Establishes COVID-19 Construction Action Center, Chris Stanton Takes Office as 2020 Chairman, Three New Members Join Board

Kansas City, MO – For COVID-19 information specific to construction, The Builders’ Association has established the COVID-19 Construction Action Center on the home page of its website at www.buildersassociation.com. The COVID-19 Construction Action Center includes safety and health best practices as well as summaries of federal and local laws and orders. The Builders’ Association seeks to be the region’s construction industry source for managing through and adapting to the coronavirus pandemic.

“During this pandemic, more than ever, the safety, health and well-being of our workers is paramount,” said Don Greenwell, President of The Builders’ Association. “That is why we’re striving to provide the most relevant and up-to-date content available at our Action Center.”

Chris Stanton has assumed the role of 2020 Chairman of the Board of The Builders’ Association. He became a member of the Association’s Executive Board in 2018. He succeeds Darin Heyen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Pearce Construction, who remains an officer of the Association. Mr. Stanton is Vice President of Preconstruction, McCownGordon Construction, a commercial general contractor headquartered in downtown Kansas City. He has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry.

Other officers include Eddy Whitley (Whitley Construction Company, LLC), Vice Chairman, and Rob Cleavinger (JE Dunn Construction Company), Assistant Chairman.

The Association also announces the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Clay Grannemann (TJ Wies Contracting, Inc.); Andy Heitmann (Turner Construction Company); and Connie Leipard (Quality Drywall Construction, Inc.). Directors also include Jason Carson (Carson-Mitchell, Inc.); Tim Harmon (Harmon Construction, Inc.); Jennifer Hart (Hartline Construction, LLC); Brandy McCombs (IBC Traffic, Inc./IBC Carpentry, LLC); Angie McElhaney (Mark One Electric Company, Inc.); Mary McNamara (Cornell Roofing & Sheet Metal Company); Jerry Schaefer (Flynn Group of Companies); and Archie Smith, V (Universal Construction Company, Inc.).
