2020 Artisan Home Tour Rescheduled for August 2020

KANSAS CITY, MO – July 2, 2020 – The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) is pleased to announce the Artisan Home Tour has been rescheduled for three weekends in August (Aug. 14-16, 21-23 and 28-30). The tour, originally scheduled for June 2020, was postponed in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Presented by Ferguson Enterprises, this tour will feature eight unique and luxurious homes built by some of Kansas City’s finest custom home builders.

Builders participating in the 2020 Artisan Home Tour and a few of the special features of their Artisan home are as follows. NOTE: KCHBA strongly encourages attendees to check the status of homes on the mobile app or at ArtisanHomeTourKC.org as not all homes are open all three weekends.

• This modern European country home by Freeman Custom Homes’ home (8609 NE Shoal Creek Parkway, Kansas City, Mo.) features a private courtyard in the center of the house, a French cafe-style bar, outdoor movie wall and a hidden stairway.
• J.S. Robinson Fine Homes’ home (15709 El Monte St, Overland Park) features a lower level speakeasy with surprises and secrets around every corner.
• Inside Starr Homes’ 14,000 square foot Artisan home (10670 W. 192nd Place, Overland Park) is a full-sized volleyball court/half basketball court and a two-lane bowling alley. It includes 6 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms and 2 half baths.
• With a combination of modern, industrial, and rustic blended together, Todd Hill Homes’ home (4409 W. 191st St, Stilwell) features a two-story metal panel fireplace with suspended granite hearth and suspended steel staircase.
• With 7,000 square feet of space, SAB Construction’s home (16 Black Hawk Dr., Lake Winnebago) features garage parking for up to nine cars and a dock for boat access.
• Mojo Built’s home (10238 Lee Blvd, Leawood) features Japanese garden installations by renowned master gardener, Koji Morimoto.
• Tom French Construction’s home (9334 Juniper Reserve Dr., Prairie Village) features an Elan Connected Home System with touch screen control, built-in speakers, Security System, integrated door chime, smart home thermostat and more.
• Don Julian Builders’ home (25260 W.  104th Place, Olathe) features the smart-enhanced theater room with amazing surround sound, digital lighting package and motorized black out shades.

The Artisan Home Tour of Greater Kansas City is a ticketed event designed to benefit the work of  JDRF, formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF is a nonprofit 501 organization that funds type 1 diabetes research. The more tickets that are purchased, the more our community can help find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

Tickets:

• Tour all seven homes: $25 for 1 ticket; $15 for each additional ticket
• Tour one home: $10 at the door or online.

Tickets are available online at www.ArtisanHomeTourKC.org, via the mobile app, at area Hy-Vee stores or at any of the Artisan homes once the tour begins.

Consumers safety guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19 are, at minimum, as follows:

• Masks are required while inside the Artisan homes.
• Stay home if you are potentially sick.  Attendees are responsible for not attending if they are, or may be, infected with the COVID-19 virus or have been around any infected person(s). It is suggested that those with compromised immune systems or other vulnerable populations not participate in-person. Instead, please consider downloading the KC Parade of Homes mobile app and/or view homes via the “Home Search” function below to participate virtually. • Children urged not to attend. Due to the inclination of children to touch surfaces, we ask that you consider attending without children.
• Maintain social distance at all times. Maintain 6’ social distancing guidelines while waiting to enter the home, while talking to those working in the home, and while touring the home. This may mean you need to wait to enter a hallway or a room until others ahead of you have left the area.
• Do not touch. Refrain from touching surfaces and handles in the home.
• Shorten home visits. Consider limiting your time within a home to 15 minutes in order to improve the flow of traffic.
• Bring hand sanitizer. Sanitize hands prior to entering and immediately upon leaving a home.
• Contact the builder or realtor before visiting a home if you have any questions.
