FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO

It’s that time of year! The holidays, family traditions, New Year’s resolutions, and, for business, annual reports to their shareholders.

As a Chamber member you are our shareholders and we appreciate your membership investment.

For the first time since we can’t remember when, the KC Chamber is issuing our Annual Report for 2021. In it, you’ll see the companies and individuals who took home Chamber awards, an outline of our strategic plan, an update on our collaborative Welcoming KC plan, financials, and a list of Chamber Board members and officers for 2021-22, led by Chair Ramin Cherafat, President & CEO of McCownGordon Construction.

There are four imperatives in the Chamber’s strategic plan, the overarching goals that encompass our work: strong workforce, robust transportation, inclusive prosperity, and organizational excellence. There are a lot of programs, initiatives, and activities under each of those imperatives and we don’t have room to list them all, but the Annual Report will highlight examples of those activities for each imperative, like the Access to Capital task force that is an important part of our work on inclusive prosperity.

We’re sharing this with you to show you, our members (and investors), the important work your investment in the Chamber supports. Click here for a link to our 2021 Annual Report.

One final thought: we at the Chamber wish you the happiest of holidays and a prosperous 2022!

SMALL BUSINESS SUPERSTARS ARE BACK

Small businesses are the engine that keeps the KC economy moving forward. The Chamber wants to recognize them! Have a favorite coffee shop? A mechanic that you swear by? An insurance agent that you can always turn to? A childcare provider that goes above and beyond? Tell us! Beginning Monday, January 3, you’ll be able to submit the Small Business Superstars in your life to kcchamber.com. We will recognize all the entries received – member or not – and provide each small business with a digital marketing kit so they can share that you think they are a Small Business Superstar! Each Superstar will then be able to connect with other small business owners for tips, tools, and best practices. Submissions close February 7.

CHAMBER HOSTS COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE

The KC Chamber is pleased to host an upcoming community blood drive to help the Community Blood Center, Wednesday, January 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Chamber Board Room, located on the first floor of Union Station. Blood supplies are at less than a day, and with colder weather here and a rise in COVID-19 cases, the need is greater than ever. Your donation could save as many as three lives in KC. You can click here to book your appointment. That’s not all. All donors will receive a free Kansas City Chiefs t-shirt. Save a life today.
