FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO

On Tuesday, July 23, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., our business community has the unique opportunity to hear from Kansas City’s top safety leaders as they share insights into current priorities and concerns related to public safety. During this free, virtual event, police, fire and EMS will unite to share the challenges and opportunities they each face as well as how they work together to resolve issues that improve safety throughout Kansas City, MO. This inaugural “The State of Public Safety in Kansas City” event is modeled after a successful program offered by the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce that is now in its third year and is helping align efforts in that community – something many of us are working to replicate in our region.

Achieving holistic, sustainable violence reduction takes a unified effort that focuses on the root causes of crime. This is the mission of the Kansas City Public Safety Coalition, of which the KC Chamber is a member. Representatives from 18 of our region’s civic and community organizations have come together to understand the underlying issues of violence while supporting initiatives that improve safety outcomes in the metro area. “The State of Public Safety in Kansas City” is an important part of the Coalition’s efforts to inspire collective action by offering meaningful opportunities to hear from public safety experts and helping people understand the role we all play in ensuring a safe community for all Kansas Citians. Join us on July 23 to learn more and be part of improving safety throughout the region.
