Chad Thompson and Kent Rettig Join Lamp Rynearson’s Kansas City Office

The Lamp Rynearson Kansas City Office welcomes two new hires, Chad Thompson, PE, and Kent Rettig. Thompson joins the Civil Design Group as a Senior Project Manager, and Rettig will support the Aquatics Group as a Senior Project Advocate.

Thompson brings nearly three decades of engineering experience and spent 20 years with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, primarily in the Public Works Department. He has managed multi-million-dollar roadway, bridge, geometric, storm sewer, traffic signal, street lighting, water, and sanitary sewer capital improvement projects. Thompson has also served on multiple boards, including the Westport Safety Committee, MARC Total Transportation Coordination, and Bike Pedestrian Advisory Board & Highways Committee. His significant history with municipal work will contribute to building trust and growing our Kansas City market.  

Rettig is a long-standing promoter of community recreational enhancements. He has experience with Comprehensive Park Master Plans, which involve communication with all city departments and stakeholders. As a former Recreation Operations Manager, Rettig was responsible for the Aquatics Division, Indoor and Outdoor facilities for the City of Lawrence, Kansas. He also collaborated with the Parks Division in Lawrence on developing new neighborhood parks, spray parks, and maintaining City parks and facilities.  Rettig also provided operations oversight for the Olathe Community Center and Outdoor Pools, Lake Olathe Eagles Landing, and Beach & Marina when he was the Recreation Superintendent for Olathe Parks & Recreation.
