Parkville, Mo.—August 1, 2024 — Camille Cook has been promoted to the role of director of library services at Park University. Cook began her new duties today.

As director of library services, Cook will be responsible for the development and management of the University’s McAfee Memorial Library, which includes oversight of Norrington Center (home of the library and Campanella Gallery). She will also serve as a faculty librarian in key areas of library services, such as collection and archives management, and digital services.

Cook will continue her roles as an assistant professor of library services and director of first-year experience. She began her career at Park University in 2020 as an instruction and outreach librarian, and assistant professor of library instruction and outreach.

In 2023, Cook was honored by the University with the Dusing-Proudfoot Award, which honors outstanding contributions by Park faculty/staff, and in 2021, she received the Faculty Newcomer of the Year Award, which is presented to faculty/staff in their first year of outstanding service to Park.

Cook, who earned both a Master of Library Science degree and a Bachelor of Arts in English degree from Emporia (Kan.) State University, is a member of the American Library Association’s 2024 Class of Emerging Leaders. The program is designed to enable library staff and information workers to participate in project planning work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity early in their careers.
