Rockhurst University Names Sandra Cassady, Ph.D., Next President

February 28, Kansas City, Mo. – The Rockhurst University Board of Trustees has selected Sandra Cassady, Ph.D., to become the 15th president of Rockhurst University, effective July 1, 2022. Cassady will make history as the first female and first lay president of Rockhurst, which is a Catholic, Jesuit university founded in 1910 by the Society of Jesus, a religious order of Roman Catholic priests known as the Jesuits. Library Director to Retire After 34 Years of Service

Greater Kansas City, MO – Mid-Continent Public Library Director and CEO Steven V. Potter announced this week that he will retire at the end of June. Potter has been the director at MCPL, which operates 35 service locations and serves more than 850,000 residents across Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties, for 12 years but he has worked for the Library since 1988. (Kansas City, MO) – The 11th and 12th Complete Streets Connections study is being developed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA). The goal of the study is to identify potential improvements to reliability and efficiency for bicycle and bus mobility along the 11th and 12th Street corridors between Wyandotte Street and Troost Avenue. Hospital Hill Run Announces Charity Challenge, benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital

For 2022, The Hospital Hill Run is partnering with its Official Charity Partner, Children’s Mercy Hospital to provide a health-oriented program for area businesses and organizations to encourage health, wellness, and physical fitness, along with an avenue to fundraise for the “I Love Children’s Mercy Fund.” The Hospital Hill Run Charity Challenge is a free friendly competition among area businesses and organizations. Employees choose to run or walk either the Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, or volunteer, and prizes are awarded to companies who earn the most points. Read Article
