The ceremony took place in the KC Chamber Board Room immediately following the news conference where Governor Mike Parson announced his hopes for the upcoming special legislative session and proposed tax cut legislation. FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO Great news for both transportation and workforce in the KC region. Last week, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced two grants for local transportation projects: $5.6-million for the Bistate Sustainable Reinvestment Corridor Project and $5-million for the 71 Highway Reconnecting Neighborhoods Project. Both were strongly supported by the KC Chamber’s Transportation Committee. Read Article

FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO The August primaries are over in both Kansas and Missouri, and our political action committee, KC BizPAC, scored well. KC BizPAC is a political action committee in collaboration with the KC Chamber and the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City. It is completely separate from both organizations (no membership dollars involved), led by a group of contributing businesses and organizations. Its purpose is to support pro-business candidates who align with the priorities of the two organizations. Read Article

A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR This month, WTC-KC has been busy connect with partners, both local and national. We are a Private Sector Liaison Officer (PSLO) for the World Bank and attended a conference we learned about the priories of the World bank, and the best ways to bring World Bank resources to our Kansas City businesses. As a Making Global Local partner, we attended a roundtable discussion to learn more about USTDA opportunities to get our local businesses involved internationally. Read Article
