There are issues that transcend state, city, and county lines – issues like transportation, childcare, education, the economy, and health.
MARC is the nonprofit organization that brings together local officials to deal with those issues metro-wide. MARC serves a total of nine counties and 119 cities, governed by a Board of Directors of 33 locally elected officials.
It is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the bistate Kansas City region and the Council of Governments for the counties and cities it serves.
The KC Chamber works closely with MARC on a number of issues including transportation and childcare. In 2020, the KC Chamber selected MARC Executive Director David Warm as its Kansas Citian of the Year, the Chamber’s highest honor.
The KC Chamber partners with the Civic Council and others in the effort known as KC Rising, which is establishing a shared vision for regional prosperity.

KCADC’s mission is to “Engage the world to invest in the OneKC region.” Its primary focus is to attract new companies and talent to our two-state region. As part of that effort, they promote the region as a business and lifestyle location of choice.
