VISIT KC/ SPORTS COMMISSION AND FOUNDATION

Visit KC and the Sports Commission “sell” Kansas City to tourists, convention planners, and sporting events.

Visit KC is a nonprofit organization supported by a full-time staff of 35+ with an annual operating budget of $14 million.  Funds come from KCMO’s hotel lodging tax with additional dollars from more than 800 member businesses in the region. In 2022, visitors to Kansas City resulted in $5.3 billion in economic impact.

The Sports Commission takes the lead in bringing a variety of amateur and professional sporting events to the area.  Think the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments, the U.S. National Gymnastics, a multitude of NCAA events, and, of course, the biggest event of all… the 2026 World Cup.

The World Cup is expected to bring a significant number of tourists to the region, thousands of eyeballs from worldwide television, and an economic impact estimated at $652 million.

An event of this size requires metro-wide collaboration, and the KC Chamber is proud to be a part of it.

Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)

There are issues that transcend state, city, and county lines – issues like transportation, childcare, education, the economy, and health.  MARC is the nonprofit organization that brings together local officials to deal with those issues metro-wide.

KANSAS CITY AREA DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (KCADC)

KCADC’s mission is to “Engage the world to invest in the OneKC region.”  Its primary focus is to attract new companies and talent to our two-state region.  As part of that effort, they promote the region as a business and lifestyle location of choice.

THE CIVIC COUNCIL OF GREATER KANSAS CITY

The KC Chamber partners with the Civic Council and others in the effort known as KC Rising, which is establishing a shared vision for regional prosperity.
