FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO Great news last week with the announcement that H&R Block will contribute $10-million toward the creation of the South Loop Project, or, as some describe it, “putting a lid over I-670.” The $200-million South Loop Project would cap I-670 between Grand and Wyandotte and top it with an urban park connecting the Downtown Business District and the Crossroads District. A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Happy February from WTC-KC! We started the year strong by launching a new event series, “Talking Trade: Coffee & Networking.” For this inaugural event, we partnered with the Mid-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Shook, Hardy, & Bacon, L.L.P., to bring together a group of businesses and service providers. One of the issues we’re most concerned about is the lack of available quality childcare, which is keeping too many people out of the workforce.
